The opening and closing parts of the gate valve are the gate plate. The movement direction of the gate plate is perpendicular to the fluid direction. The gate valve can only be fully opened and fully closed, and cannot be adjusted and throttled. Gate valves also have a good variety of classification. According to the material can be classified as cast iron gate valve, cast steel gate valve, stainless steel gate valve and so on. According to the transmission mode, it can be divided into manual gate valve, electric gate valve, pneumatic gate valve, etc. According to the connection mode, it can be divided into flange gate valve, welded gate valve, etc.
Flange gate valve has the following advantages:
1. The fluid resistance is small, and the sealing surface is brushed and eroded by the medium.
2, open and close more labor-saving.
3. The flow direction of the medium is not restricted, does not disturb the flow, does not reduce the pressure.
4. Simple shape, short structure length, good manufacturing process and wide application range.
The disadvantages of flange gate valve are as follows:
1, the sealing surface is easy to cause erosion and abrasion, maintenance is difficult.
2. The external dimensions are large, opening requires a certain space, and the opening and closing time is long.
3, the structure is more complex.
The installation and maintenance of flange gate valve should pay attention to the following matters:
1. Handwheel, handle and transmission mechanism are not allowed to be used for lifting, and collision is strictly prohibited.
2. The double gate valve should be installed vertically (that is, the valve stem is in the vertical position and the handwheel is at the top).
3. The gate valve with bypass valve should be opened before opening the bypass valve (to balance the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet and reduce the opening force).
4. The gate valve with transmission mechanism shall be installed according to the provisions of the product instruction manual.
5. If the valve is frequently used, lubricate it at least once a month.
